Our goal is to aid in promoting an appreciation and understanding the forests, and helping the US Forest Service in it's mission to conserve these towering forests of the Sierra Nevada.

We publish and distribute books, brochures, maps and other materials relating to the human and natural history of the Sierra Nevada. Profits from these activities are used help the Forest Service fund a wide range of interpretive and educational programs, further contributing to the publics appropriate use, understanding and enjoyment of our forest’s resources.

We believe that an informed public can aid in the conservation mission of the Forest Service. Those who understand the mission are more likely to help further those mandates so future generations can enjoy and use this priceless heritage.
